A summery of Your Favorite Annoying T...

Hello, I am YFAT or Lo. I have been writing/around on Journal Scape for over a decade now. Time flies! This journal chronicles my random thoughts, high moments and sometimes low, throughout high school, college, and now beyond, into the world of "adulthood", whatever that means.

Sinerely, ~Lo

Walkin' blues and Odd/Even

So....

Yesterday I went for an awesome walk, sadly only the second one I've been on since I came here in the fall.
This was written yesterday and then I had to leave in the middle of writing but I'm posting anyway.

I went all around the perimeter of campus and up in to these fields. It was beautiful. I listened to tunes on my iPod and got rid of some built up energy. Now I am all calm and happy. Mind you, my ass froze. Seriously, I got back and took off my sweats and touched my butt and it was an ice cube. My booteous maxmimus has no job when I walk...and my quads do nothing as well cause they were frozen too. I dunno.
Anyhoo it was amazing. I followed the trail of some dogs and their walkers. I think they were German Shepards and are owned by a college professor because the one other time I went walking I saw them going the same route. Makes me want to take Konnor.
As I walked I heard the bells of the tower ring out even as far as I was from them. It is wonderful. I bet most of the town can hear them too.
As I headed back toward campus I was in awe of the sun and the lake. I thought "I wish I brought my camera" I thought "I need to do this more often" I thought "I should come up here in the summer" I thought "definitely need to camp out up here" then I thought "I love walking in the cold, otherwise I'd be dying." All I was wearing was some stretchy sweat pants, my long sleeved Autism Awareness shirt and a Ramones short sleeved over top with some gloves on and long socks and sneakers. When my ears started to freeze I let my hair down. My long thick mane of hair gets some use after all. It was amazing.

(switching to now)
When I got back I made myself a cup of soup and had some french vanilla coffee stuff. It was goooood and just what I needed after the cold.

Sammy and I's friend Ton came and chilled out in our room a little and then we got ready for the first Men's Odd/Even. Now, a refresher on my school traditions: Odds are class 2007, 2009, 2011, etc. Evens are class 2008, 2010, 2012, etc... Anyhoo for a long time the women have had a basketball game and a sing off in the fall. Now that the school is co-ed the guys want their hand in one of Wells best traditions too. So instead of making the basketball game co-ed(which I am GLAD they didn't) they let the guys make their own Odd/Even. The guys chose a chili cook-off and dodgeball. I'm not too sure about the chili cook off but dodgeball...that could stick.
So Sammy and I got in our purple, yellow, sometimes gold Oddline colors and Ton wore her Evenline colors of green and blue. We headed up to the sports center and waited for the madness to begin. I think most people showed up just to see how many spectators would get hit by dodgeballs.
There was a pretty good turn out. We had a lot of Oddliners. We screamed and cheered the whole time for our boys, waving our signs and having a ball of it. We oddliners are definitely loud and rowdy.
However in the end all of our loudness got us nowhere. We lost...but the Evenliners kept making a big fuss over every point the Oddline got. We screamed right back but whatever. It was crazy. It was fun. It was worth it. Next year should be interesting.
We all did the circle thing and our Wells songs. I got the senior drinking song stuck in my head again the whole night.
Afterward we headed back to our respective dorms and life went on....
Except the fact that it hurts to talk because I screamed so much.
Yeah, class rivalry is crazy.

So that was it.
Now I'm in the comp lab the next morning wasting time until the dining hall opens, which 26 minutes from when I started writing thing and 7 minutes from when I am typing here.

Ooo speaking of typing, Elsie the librarian is always in amazement of my typing. She's all with her Cuban accent "You type so fast and with one hand! My goodness look at dat!" It makes me laugh every time. I love that woman. She has been here fo-eva.

Anyhoo I'm going to roll out and get some grub in my belly before I head to work.
Peace.
~Lo
