A summery of Your Favorite Annoying T...

Hello, I am YFAT or Lo. I have been writing/around on Journal Scape for over a decade now. Time flies! This journal chronicles my random thoughts, high moments and sometimes low, throughout high school, college, and now beyond, into the world of "adulthood", whatever that means.

Sinerely, ~Lo

Grade Report

....Uh...I'm confused.
I passed Stats?
With a C+?
WHAT THE HELL?! I SHOULD HAVE FAILED THAT SHIT!
-shrugs- I guess being nice gets me somewhere now and then.

I managed a solid A in my African-American Slavery course which is pretty sweet. I knew I was doing pretty well but I didn't know how well. I'll take that grade for sure. I think that professor just suits my style and his course was also really interesting and enjoyable.

B- both in Soc of Education and American Feminism. I'm not too surprised with the Feminism class. It was freaking hard and I was kind of confused with what my professor wanted out of my writing. She was also really intimidating to me because she's one of those old women that just knows soooo much that it's frightening.
Soc of Education...meh, a higher grade would have been nicer but I also stopped caring about the class because my professor was a biatch. I contributed greatly but yeah, she was a straight up biatch.

Finally I received B+ in my writing history course which isn't bad but that professor is also an easy grader. I was kind of proud of the fact that my final paper went somewhere different than the rest of the class (who were mostly wrapped up in history from the past 200 years) and I went back to the 700's, exploring Islamic Spain and the Renaissance they had waaaaay before the rest of Europe. I think I went through about half of my library's books on Spain in three days as I wrote that paper. It even ended up being about 14 and 3/4s pages long.

My GPA for the semester is a 3.0 but I think I can bring it back up next semester. I have classes with three professors I really like. It may be demanding (as once again I'm doing all 300 level besides one 200 level history class) but I am willing to do the work. My theme is Doom and Gloom: Epidemic, 20th century USA, 20th Europe, 2nd half of US history (which is basically 20th USA still), and Sociology of Criminology. I am not a huge fan of the 20th century but I am also quite weak in my knowledge of it.

The good thing about my history so far is that I am pretty well rounded. In my African-American slavery class I was one of the few who could place it in the larger context of the world. I knew that England was in its imperial age and they really didn't need to support to the South because they could just go to India or various other colonies. I know my American history well enough but it is the rest of the world that really holds me stronger.
Ideas for my thesis are driving me nuts because I want to do something more obscure, such as Mongolian history (even Kublai Khan in China) or Spain or maybe do something super random that doesn't focus on dominant American or European power states. (Okay, Spain was a power state but they're also really obscure and not talked about much in European history because they are geologically isolated and just weird. They have pretty art and gave Europe the Americas and had that inquisition thing but that's it.)

Anyhoo, that's my news.
Peace.
~Lo

P.S. Happy birthday to my mom!!!
