A mental laugh
breaks into my mind
because this thing has come
full circle.

I am
Your Favorite Annoying Teen
again
because this year
this thing
becomes a teenager.

It slides evenly through my age
dividing it in half
as a knife through
room temperature butter.

Much has been missed,
unrecorded,
but I still find myself here
for private truths,
for things I can't get out
in the open air
but still need to be
semi-permanently somewhere.

The comfort of this place
is as easy to me
(if not more so)
as the notebooks I still keep tucked in my arms
and try my hardest
to be a little bit truthful to.
(Instead of the posed life
which social media demands.)
