There have been so many changes in my life the past year; returning to college, learning to swim, becoming more disciplined in writing, starting a new job, making new friendships, joining a church, and continuing to adjust to our new home (and tropical lifestyle) here in Florida.

Change is never easy for me, is it for anyone? I have one friend who seems to relish change, with all of its surprises, and I treasure that about her, but most of my other friends seem more hesitant, the way I tend to be. We like to venture our slowly, dip our toes in the water and see what the temperature is like before committing to getting wet.

But so much of life seems to involve plunging, doesn’t it? Not lolly-gagging around, just DOING IT.

Today I am grateful for living somewhere where I can swim with my kiddos every week, and count the tropical fish we see in the clear blue water. I am grateful for resilience, flexibility, and the ability to JUMP in, even when it’s freezing cold, and no that everything will be okay know matter what.
