Venture capitalist Vinod Khosla gives a presentation at Google back in March, titled Biofuels: Think Outside the Barrel.

The presentation is over an hour long, but well worth checking out, in my opinion. It takes a compelling look at the technical issues surrounding adoption of Ethanol as a fuel source (for vehicles), and it really sounds as if it's a viable alternative. Certainly moreso than hydrogen, from what I've read.
