Earlier this evening my sister called from Australia with some bad news. My grandma (Dad's side) passed away today, aged 86. She'd become more frail in recent years, but seemed to be doing okay until she fell ill this week. While we're still reeling with the news and feeling sad and upset, it's comforting to know she is with my grandpa now and that she passed away peacefully, having lived a long and fulfilling life.

I will always have fond memories of seeing her every Saturday night when her and my grandpa came to visit; the caravan trips with family; enjoying her amazing cooking; running around their place while they tended to chores and their beautiful garden; and her kind nature, among many others. We're sad that we never got the chance to see her again since I moved to the US, and she never did get to meet Jack in-person. We'll miss her on our planned visit to Australia later next year.
