Welcome Spring!

The first day of spring here at Crow Cottage:

100_0513

See any bulbs popping up? Any daffs? Any sign of green?

And the best part is that we are expecting another 4 inches of snow this weekend sometime...

But it was a lot worse not long ago:

No, really, it's spring here. But this is what I'd rather be looking at:

Spring Garden April 26, 2012

...and my new little rose garden:

Maybe in another month?

Cheers,

Bex

I think I could turn and live awhile with the animals...
They are so placid and self-contained,
I stand and look at them sometimes half the day long.

They do not sweat and whine about their condition,
They do not lie awake in the dark and weep for their sins,
They do not make me sick discussing their duty to God,
Not one is dissatisfied... not one is demented with the mania of owning things,
Not one kneels to another nor to his kind that lived thousands of years ago,
Not one is respectable or industrious over the whole earth.

~ [Walt Whitman, from "Leaves of Grass, No. 32"] ~
