eLume - the newest revolution!

Good Day to Everyone,

I should start by saying I am writing today on a subject about which I know literally nothing... eLume books. The reason I've chosen this for you today is that a member of my (extended) family, Paul's second cousin Benjamin Morse, has been an integral part of the development of this new technology. It's used on an iPad, I do not have any Apple products so this is not something I will be able to use - at least not right now. But some of you may, so that's why I write here about it.

Below are six short videos of explanations of eLume books. The first is done by our cousin, Benjamin Morse. Benj's partner, Richard Mason, also has done a wonderful short video (3rd one down) - each of these is different but similar and all are worth the few minutes of your time it will take to watch them.

A couple of years ago Benj (we used to call him "Ben" but he goes by "Benj" to all his friends now), who lives in Glasgow, Scotland, now, told us that he and Richard were working day and night, year-round, to develop an "APP" - he didn't really say what it was all about, and Paul and I are so computer illiterate that it wouldn't have mattered anyway. But now that I see what the final product of all their work has become, I am so impressed and proud of them both.

Seeing all this almost temps me to get into this E-experience for myself! Am I too over-the-hill for it? It feels that way. Paul will never touch a computer, I know that. But it's out there, and anyone who is interested should go for it! What an amazing way to read a book!

I did read a message from Benj on his FaceBook page that this eLume APP is not quite ready yet, but it's almost there. His FB is here: Benjamin Morse FB. where he says to a commenter: "Thanks for the cheers, friends! The app is still a test version, with an upgrade to come soon. But you and the whole of Facebook will know when I relentlessly start promoting it." and then "Please don't promote just yet Cathy Midkiff Lewis. It needs fixes that won't be ready in a version you'll have to download from scratch in about two weeks. Otherwise you'll be promoting a random tech firm in India. It will however remember if you purchase anything now..." Earlier, on March 18 in is FB page, he says, "We finally submitted our app to Apple. Never again will I be cynical about celebrities taking time off for exhaustion."

I can't even imagine the kind of work that must have gone into this endeavor. It boggles my little mind...

So here you go! Learn something new or, if you already know about this technology, enjoy some more of it!

In other local news, Paul has been back to work now for two weeks, full-time lobstering, selling, and working thru all the heat and humidity of our summertime months. It feels good to be here on so many levels... sometimes it takes an event like he had for us to really appreciate the boring little lives that we live here... give me hum-drum and boring any day!

Cheers,

Bex & Co.

I think I could turn and live awhile with the animals...
They are so placid and self-contained,
I stand and look at them sometimes half the day long.

They do not sweat and whine about their condition,
They do not lie awake in the dark and weep for their sins,
They do not make me sick discussing their duty to God,
Not one is dissatisfied... not one is demented with the mania of owning things,
Not one kneels to another nor to his kind that lived thousands of years ago,
Not one is respectable or industrious over the whole earth.
