Recently when I was wading through my old LPs I came across a couple which made me smile.

They were 'Scared to Dance' and 'Days in Europa' by the Skids.

When I was in my mid/late teens, I would play those two albums over and over.

I admit that part of the initial pleasure came from my Mum thinking they were "just a lot of noise".
(Actually I still think she was wrong).

So, when I pulled them out of the box there were a few tracks I just had to listen to:

'Working for the Yankee Dollar'
'Into the Valley'
'Charade'
...and
'The Saints are Coming.'

Yes. They still sound best when played loud.

So how happy am I that U2 (my all time favourite band) and Green Day (my youngest son's favourite band) collaborated to do a version of 'The Saints are Coming' and are releasing it as a single, to benefit the Music Rising Campaign??

Very. Of course.

I know I'm late with this. They performed it for the reopening of the Louisiana Superdome for Monday Night Football on September 25th.

But just in case you happened to miss it, you can find out more, watch the video, buy the song etc. etc.here.

Good music stands the test of time for sure.
(even if it's "just a lot of noise" apparently).
