The Revgal Friday Five

the revgal friday five

1. Favorite birthday cake/ice cream/dessert
My mother came upon this chocolate concoction that was a chocolate cake mix, three eggs, 3/4 cup sour cream, 3/4 cup oil, 1 package of pudding and 1 package of chocolate chips! I added white sour cream icing to the most delectable cake in the world - very rich but very good!

Not a birthday cake, but when W. and I were planning our wedding, I said I wanted a chocolate wedding cake. I'm not into all that Italian whatever, and fruit and cake - I mean, who are we kidding?

So our baker said, "What if I put melted white chocolate bars into the white wedding cake?" (W. would have none of the chocolate brides cake!) It was SO GOOD! It was even better at the one-year anniversary.

2. Surprise Parties -- have you ever given or received one?
I received a surprise party for my 16th birthday which was held the afternoon after the actual day. I still remember pics of me sitting with my friends, smiling and happy and thrilled they remembered since by b-day is the day after Christmas!

3. Favorite birthday present
My friends in seminary gave me an easy bake oven, because I had never gotten one as a child and I lamented that I had missed out! We cooked a small pan of brownies in there for 45 minutes and ate them with glee.

4. What do you think of those candles that won't blow out?
Pain in the ass. Other than that, pretty funny!

5. Best. birthday. ever.
W. and I went to London one year, which was pretty cool. When I was six, my mother made sure all of my friends would be in town and we had a birthday clown at the party! Of all the birthdays, I think that had to be one of the most special because I always felt left out because we are always on holiday on the big day.
