How about some good old fashioned righteous rage? I think I may have to rant or blow a gasket!!

Seems the state legislators here in my adopted home state have a little too much time on their hands. They are putting forth a new bill designed to prohibit the state university system (which is a very good, very extensive system with many smaller regional campuses in out-state areas) from dispensing the "Morning After Pill" more correctly known as Emergency Contraception (EC). Why? Well, they just don't like the idea of young women having sex, that's why. Or they go by the old rule of "you play, you pay."

One of the state legislators who voted against the bill pointed out that for most young women in the university system, (especially those women attending campuses in outlying areas) the campus health center is their only primary health care source. If this bill passes, there will be thousands of young women who will have no source of this potentially very important medication.

I can't begin to tell you how angry I get when politicians play doctor/couselor/clergy/god. How far back into the dark ages must we be shoved before we begin to fight back? I'm almost too angry to type.

Hmmm... I wonder if the university's faculty/staff prescription insurance coverage has a "no Viagra rule"? Doubt it.
