Recently a blogpal insitituted a bookmark swap. Funny thing--I *never* buy bookmarks for myself. So I either use the few bookmarks people have given me, or I find Unusual Ways of Marking My Place in the various books I am reading.

Examples: One book I am currently reading is being marked by the birthday card OEH gave me this year. It has two little kids on the front, and one has a bucket on her head. Inside it says, "It's your birthday. Do what you want. Put a bucket on your head. Whatever." It cracks me up every time I read it.

Another book is being marked by one of those annoying little cards that fall out of magazines. This one was from "Sun" magazine. It was supposed to remind me to re-up before my sub expired. It didn't, but it holds my place in God's Politics quite nicely, thank you very much.

But NOW I can mark books with some nifty-swifty new bookmarks from Judy and from Songbird and her Princess! I LOVE happy mail! Yippee!

I sent out two bookmarks myself, sadly, not homemade, but ones I found at the gift shop at Famous Dead Architect's Former Home when OEH and I went there last week. FDA had a knack for innovative design, so I think the ones I got were very cool. Hope my swappees felt the same.
