Well, I should have known. Nine whole months of relative peace and quiet. (Hmmm...nine months, eh? Sounds down right gestational.) Nine months of nobody sending me e-mails that start with "Just thought you'd want to know that *everybody* is unhappy with..." or "*The congregation* would like you to stop..." or "Please be aware that *folks* think you need to ..."

Last night it happened again. A person came to me with a group consensus that I guess I am supposed to treat as though it is gospel. Trouble is, its the same small group of six people who always seem to feel as though they represent the will of the congregation. And the same damn issue.

The last time this happened I was a pastor with a whole 6 months of experience under my belt, and they ambushed me at a meeting. There was red-faced yelling, finger pointing, and lots of accusation. The group consensus that night was that my motives were sinister.

I guess you could say that people here get very emotional when offered the Peace of our Lord Jesus Christ in worship on the Lords' Day. It seems to me that they don't want it.

This pains me greatly.
