Gentle readers, my messed-up-cover copies of "Light Blazes" came a few days ago. I gingerly opened a copy, then proceeded to read the whole durn thing, cover to cover. I'm bad that way. You should see me with a pint of Dulce de Leche.

I bought a random number of copies to begin with--five to be exact. I didn't have plans for the five, specifically, and since my blog is underground so far, I don't have that many people to share them with. Plus, I think someone who has been published on a vanity press who has big piles of her own book (written with others, of course) sitting around, is just kind of sad. So, five only. Shoved in a box under my bed.

Now, of course, I will have five more. Shoot! What to do with the extras?

I'm thinking about distributing the extras at a meeting of clergy I am attending tomorrow night. For the past year I have been a part of a group of newly-ordained clergy in our Presbytery. It has been a very helpful group, providing the six of us with a place to vent, explore, laugh, cry, marvel, struggle, succeed, and form community. Recently we faced the daunting task of finding our new facilitator. (I think we have a new found respect for search committees! That is hard work, and not in the GWB sense, but actual *hard work*.) The new guy will not be there tomorrow, and so this may be my only chance. I'm not ready to share this part of me with him. But I think I may be ready to share with the ones I have gotten to know.

I should add, I have told one other very good friend about the book. He bought the downloadable copy--very resourceful of him, I thought! I prefaced my unveiling by warning him that in contrast to the other RGBPs I felt as if I was the "toothless cousin with BO that grandma forced the others to invite to the family reunion".

He laughed. He gets me that way.
