From Songbird:

1) Do you display a nativity scene, and if so, where?

We have a lovely ceramic one that was a wedding gift from my brother. (We got married on Dec 22.) He made the stable himself, but it did not survive one of the moves across the country. Now we display it sans stable, on the table that belonged to my spouse's grandparents--blending both our families. It looks very elegant in my shabby chic house!

2) Do you put a skirt under the Christmas tree? If so, what does it look like?

We just got a new tree skirt this year. Red wool. Very plain, but nice. Before we had one that was this ugly polyester plaid number. I'm sure at one point I thought it was fabulous, but I decided that on our 25th Christmas together, we could get the upgrade.

3) Do you hang lights on the house or put them in your windows?

No lights outside or in windows. We live in a neighborhood that tends towards the gaudy. If I want to see lights, I just have to look outside my window.

4) White lights or colored lights on the tree? Big bulbs or the small, pretty ones? (I'm not biased...much.)

Small, white, tasteful bulbs. We did colored when the kids were little, but now they have a more discerning esthetic understanding. (Not that I'm biased, either!)

5) Do you have a tree topper? What sort? Who puts it on top of the tree?

We have an angel, one that my parents gave us years ago. Now OEH puts it on. The kids used to take turns.
