* A friend just called to ask me to the ballet on Thursday night. He got two very nice free tickets when his two clergy colleagues couldn't use them. Geez, why can't I get ballet tickets that trickle down to me?
* Since my friend got carjacked I have taken to locking the church doors behind me every time I enter the building, except for Sunday mornings. This makes me very sad. But I am here alone until the Office Administrator gets back from vacation tomorrow.
* I made a big pot of vegetable beef soup on Friday. I am still eating that @#$% soup at every meal. Note to self: smaller pot next time.
* I am making a Texas Solidarity Cake for my Valentine tomorrow. (or Chocolate Cake For the Apocolypse, as it is sometimes called.)
* Yesterday, for the first time, I preached a text I had preached before for the same crowd. I'm not sure exactly how 2Kings 5:1-14 ended up in both years A and B, but it did. I'm proud that I preached a completely different sermon this time! Another first for me!
