Well, friends, as my ELCA clergy gal pal likes to say "We got that dude in the cave and back out again this year!"

Easter was, well, the way I suppose it often is in the small church: touching and bizarre. How some people can hear the Good Great News of the resurrection and still sit there pinch-faced because they think the white is not as pretty as the purple, (ala "Why wouldn't the pastor just let us put the purple back like we wanted to? It's so much prettier that that boring white!") I'm sure I don't know. Small steps. Alleluia!

I wished them the peace of Christ and a handshake of reconciliation anyway, although they silently looked at the floor the whole time, only limply offering a hand when they saw they had no other polite choice. Some people can never be joyful, and for these he died and rose again as well. Alleluia!

On the other hand, I got to preach over some serious baby song today, which I love. Seven babies under 18-months today in our small sanctuary! The place was alive with gurgling. I loved it! And my son did 50% of his annual church attendance today, throwing the old lady a bone. God bless his agnostic little soul. Alleluia!

Tomorrow morning I am off for some serious R&R, and probably won't have internet access. Have fun without me!

He is Risen, Christ is Risen indeed. Alleluia!
