Short People
Any day now I will be the shortest person in my house, at 5'10". I am the mother. I am the one who makes and enforces all the rules. This is not good.

Short Hops
On my last airplane trip (to GA) it took me 45 minutes, gate-to-gate to get to Detroit from Snow Belt City. It took me 1 hour and 10 minutes, gate-to-gate to get from Memphis to Snow Belt City. Detroit is one skinny state and one skinny lake away. Memphis is two skinnies and one looong state away. I don't get it. That makes me feel stupid.

Short Stops
The late great Fred&Ethel have a grandson who is one of these for a Major League Baseball team. I watched many of his cousins ignore him at the memorial. Apparently they are tired of having a famous cousin. It was kind of sad. ETA: When I looked this guy up to send the info to a friend, I discovered that I was wrong about his position. He actually plays right next to the short stop, at third base. That's what I get for listening to his old Sunday School teacher last week! Sorry for the confusion. But he does play for MLB!
