So, I got in touch with my mom and sister last night and talked to them for about an hour. It was nice. It sort of alleviated the missing thing.

Things today have been very slow. Brian and I decided we were going to reserve Saturdays for special quality time together. So, we went out into the bitter cold to feed the six ducks we could find. There were five males and one female which struck me as interesting. I don't know much about ducks, so maybe this is part of their mating cycle or just a weird little coincidence. Also, there could have been more females that were just too sensible to swim across the cold canal for a couple of not-quite-moldy hamburger buns.

After the ducks we retreated home since the wind had picked up and we were getting rained on. We got home and played Scrabble--I lost. THen Iwatched Brian play a metroid game. I don't know why I enjoy watching other people play computer games so much, usually more than I enjoy playing them. Maybe it's because I get to watch the plot unfold but don't have to go through the frustration of figuring out the puzzles and fighting the bad guys. How lazy is that?

Now I am making baked bean burritos and pierogies for dinner because Sean, our vegetarian friend, is joining us. I think the plan is to rope him into some sort of board game after dinner. Following that I fully intend to write, and maybe get some reading done.

Tomorrow is all about the homework.

Dinner and board games was fun. It was nice to hang out with Seanie; I don't get to do it very often.

Now I am going to repair the damage dinner did to my kitchen and relax for a few hours before bed. Night, all!
