Still buzzing over the semester being over, though it's going to be harder than I thought to get my withdrawl to go through. Sigh...Oh well, it's not the end of the world.

So, as the title states, I am intending to do A LOT of reading over this break. There's just so much good stuff out there. The list breaks down something like this:

1) Finish PROBABILITY SPACE (Nancy Kress)
2) THE EINSTEIN INTERSECTION (Samuel R. Delany)
3) WINTERLONG (Elizabeth Hand)
4) THINK LIKE A DINOSAUR [again] (James Kelly)
5) THE RAT KING (China Mieville)
6) STRANGER THINGS HAPPEN (Kelly Link)
7) THE BONES OF TIME (Kathleen Ann Goonan)
8) TERMINAL VISIONS (Richard Paul Russo)
9) NEKROPOLIS (Maureen McHugh)
10) SKINFOLK (Nalo Hopkinson)
11) GOING HOME AGAIN (Howard Waldrop)

Can anyone guess what all these authors have in common? Actually, I imagine there are a few answers to this, but the one I was thinking of has to do with my latest obsession. Hint: I probably should have picked up a STARLIGHT anthology as well.

If I have time I also want to read BABEL-17 and EMPIRE STAR (Both by Delany) and PERIDO STREET STATION (Mieville).

Well, I have to call Kyle about lunch. More later!

***********************************************

I had a good lunch with Kyle. We talked for a rather long time which hasn't happened in awhile. He's thinking about, and this may have possibly been upgraded to planning to, send in applicantions to Clarion East and West. It would be interesting if I ended up in a workshop with him. He's a pretty tough critic from what I've seen. (We had a poetry workshop together at one time).

As an added bonus, after lunch we hit the comic shop and the second issue of GI JOE: FRONTLINE was in. Yay!

It's December 10th. I know that's obvious, but it is relevant because it means there are only eleven more days until I get to see my family again. Brian and I are spending the 21 - 25 with my mom and sister. Woo Hoo! I may hate Plattsburgh, but I am desperately looking forward to seeing everyone. In this case everyone is: Mom, Jolene, Mindy, Aunt Bev, and possibly Danielle if I can get a hold of her. My Aunt Denise and cousin Cody will be there too.

Sorry, Pat, and all others not included in this everyone. Be grateful. It means you're not in Plattsburgh.

There is the chance that we may be going directly to Buffalo from Plattsburgh since Brian's family is doing the big gamily event on the 26th, and Nancy has asked if we could arrive early. Fortunately, I had some warning about this so I have talked to Kyle and made sure he could feed the pets on the 25th. We're going to Brian's Dad's on the 27th. I have no idea when Brian and I are going to exchange gifts. Gotta love the holiday. Sigh.

Well, I have a birthday present for Pat to hunt down, so I guess I'll end this here. Night, all!

And, Jojo, I miss you. I miss Mom too. Give each other hugs from me.
