Rodent Ramblings You Don't Want to Ask. Really. 53481 Curiosities served |
2002-12-18 11:16 PM Bane of My Sanity Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Frustrated Read/Post Comments (0) So the new power supply for my computer arrived and Brian was wonderful enough to put it in and even set up the system again for me. So I installed Morrowind and went through the tedious process of transferring over my saved games from Brian's labtop, which is what I have been using. Everything's great now, right? No. Turns out I have no sound. So the incredible Brian goes into action again. After about a half hour, look, there's sound, crappy sound, but better than nothing. Great! Not so great. There is a short pin on my video cable that's not connecting. Therefore, the damn thing won't color sink. For those who have no idea what that means (hi, Mom :) ), it means the picture on my screen is in pretty violet shades which are really annoying to look at for any length of time. Yet again Brian comes to my rescue. However, this time we have nowhere near the appropriate tools. So, for now the computer has won. Heck, I'm almost afraid to fix it in case my motherboard blows up next. Sigh.
In other news, Pat, I was laughing too hard to fall asleep. I will be responding to that email when I calm down a bit. I've gotten very little reading or writing done. Morrowind has consumed my life. But, hey, that's what vacations are for. Well, off to call CompUSA. Be back later! ************************************************** Never called CompUSA. Instead I went grocery shopping and returned the videos that were due Sunday. Then I collapsed. I got about three hours of sleep last night and it caught up with me. I went to take a little nap around three and woke up at six. May I here state that my husband is wonderful. Not only did he let me sleep because I wasn't feeling well, even though we are leaving soon and there is a ton of stuff to do and dinner to cook, and he had been working his butt off while I did next to nothing earlier in the day, but he brought me blankets. I love that man so much. Anyway, not much happened when I woke up. I made dinner and settled in to put together the mixed tapes I promised my mom and sister. I'd like to say that is one of the world's most boring projects. You have to wait the four minutes or so for the song to play, and you can't really start anything else in the process. So it's ten seconds of work, four minutes of twiddling thumbs, rinse and repeat. I have my mom's tape done, but I'm still working on my sister's. You better like them, you two! :) I also got two critiques done. I was going to do more, but given that my energy levels are in the negatives, I'm just going to be glad I got what I did done. Which is to say anything. Oh, and Pat, thank you for the card. It was very sweet. Well, night all! Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
