First, yes, Pat, she's very pretty, and in no way fits any of your criteria. Email me if you want more information.

I have discovered that Brian and I have some of the nicest neighbors known to man. The ones on the right of us took a sugar glider when I no longer had the time or ability to care for it properly, the ones on the left towed me out when I got stuch in the snowbank the plows put in front of my driveway while I was shopping. Today, another neighbor from down the street plowed my driveway for me.

That's a bigger deal than you can imagine. There was a three foot bank at the end of the driveway from all the recent storms. It was going to take me all day to shovel it, and I wasn't even sure I could because of the bottom layers condensing to ice. Having called every snow removal place in the Yellow Pages and discovering none of them come to Brockport, I had little choice but to try if I ever wanted to use my (IE Brian's) car again. Plus, Nancy is coming today and needed a place to park. It was a mess.

So, I'm out there freezing (Did I mention I'm still sick? I hate colds.) when this guy drives up with a plow on his truck and asks if I want help. I'd never seen him before, but I'm not stupid so I said yes. And he plowed the whole thing. He didn't want anything in return, said he lived down the street, saw me struggling, and thought I could use some help.

I so love nice people.

Speaking of nice people, Vicki and I had a lot of fun last night. We sat and gossiped (I have no idea if that's spelled correctly) in the coffee shop at Barnes and Noble and then went book hunting. I got a little carried away; I now have a few more books on biology, genetics, and quantum mechanics. in the long run it'll help with my writing so I can think of it as an investment. The Hemlock Falls Mysteries I bought (very good books, by the way, the author is Claudia Bishop) are pure stress relief.

Anyway, so far today is shaping up to be wonderful. I hope it stays that way.
