Wrung Out

Today started out as a good day. I got lots of sleep last night, which makes three nights straight. I think that may be a record for me. I even overslept a little; not a good thing, but it sure felt like one this morning.

Then I just putzed about for a little bit until Vicki picked me up. We went to play racquetball, and I have to say that it was a lot of fun, great exercise, and I look forward to doing it again. This is going to be a weekly thing from now on. I wish I had more external motivation to exercise like this.

So that was great. I came home and did some cleaning. Then I sat down to catch a few fish for Brian in Dark Cloud. Got bored before I even started and played my game. No luck finding a Bandit Slingshot. Sigh.

Around this time is when the minor headache I had escalated into a huge headache, so I took some Alleve. However, the headache was apparently quite content to ruin my life and grew into a migraine of, while not epic proportions, large enough calibur to make me queasy.

So, I took a bath hoping to take the pain down a notch. I just sat there with most of my head underwater for who knows how long. And it did help, I think because there was no noise reaching my submerged ears to make things worse.

However, after catching myself drifting off I got out of the tub and the headache was there waiting. Finally, at a loss of anything else to do, I locked myself in the guest room and eventually fell asleep.

I should explain that the guest room is the place where the least amount of light can enter the house, as well as the least amount of critters. It's pretty much the only place to go to cower from migraines.

Now I'm up (and talking to Pat on IM) and the headache is back to tolerable levels, though I can feel it building a notch everytime a loud noise is made by one of the cats. For now, though I can handle it.

As a special bonus my hair smells like lavendar from the bath ball I was using.

So that's pretty much been my day. Not terribly exciting. The idea is to get some writing done, maybe revise the death story, maybe work on something new. Either way I want to get at least a thousand words written.

Wish me luck!
