Rodent Ramblings You Don't Want to Ask. Really. 57430 Curiosities served |
2003-05-30 10:43 PM Another Fish in the Sea Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Headachy Read/Post Comments (2) Today was interesting. I drove Kyle out to his parent's house so he could pet sit for them, and this required driving through Rochester. I get really nervous driving on the highway, but I did pretty well. As a bonus I got to have some pretty good food. I was getting sick of all the restaurants in Brockport.
After that I pretty much went straight to racquetball. I'm getting better at judging my serves so that they don't fall short, but I'm still having trouble placing them. Oh well. I'll get better with practice. Even without that improvement though today's session was a really good workout. I was so tired I didn't want to move when I got home. It makes me glad I was doing chili in the crockpot today since that meant I didn't have to get up and cook. Still, I couldn't just collapse for the night because we agreed to meet Nikki at the theater to see Finding Nemo. Pixar has never let me down, and while this wasn't perhaps their best effort, I found it extremely enjoyable. It was very, very funny. Especially the seagulls. If anyone likes good animation and comedy I would recommend this. Just go to a later showing if you can swing it. There were far too many kids in the theater for my taste. The people sitting behind us had three and the woman kept explaining everything quite loudly to one of them. I have to say that the animated short was also hilarious. That's one of my favorite things about Pixar, that they always show a short animation before the main feature. So, over all I had a really good day. The only downside is this dratted headache. Now, I suffer from some weird headache condition called occipital neuralgia. Basically the muscles in my neck put pressure on the nerves, and therefore headache. It never goes away. I've had a headache since I was twelve, and a migraine condition on top of that (there's a reason my pediatrician referred to me as the medical mishap of '78), but usually it's a low grade sort of thing, more annoying than really painful. Unfortunately, whether because I'm stressed about Clarion (the more stressed I get, the more tense the muscles in my neck get, and the worse the headache is) or for some other reason, perhaps eye strain (it being a problem with the occipital nerve I can see how that would contribute at least), for the last four days I have had an exceptionally bad headache. It isn't quite a migraine, but it teeters on the very edge of becoming one, and nothing seems to help for very long. I've taken Alleve, which has done nothing, and Brian has rubbed my neck and shoulders, which helps a lot but only temporarily, and the stupid pain just won't go away. (I'm pretty sure that's a run-on sentence, but oh well). I wake up with the same level of pain and go to sleep with it. I'm about ready to gouge my eyes out, but I doubt that'd really help at all, though I suppose at that point the headache would be the least of my concerns. So, anyway, that has been putting a damper on things. However, I have still managed to be in a good mood, at least for today, and since we're going to see Nancy, tomorrow should be fun as well. For now, I am beat, so I think it's bed for the Jamie. Night, all! Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
