Sometimes the world is a nice place to be. I say this because last night and today have been fairly good to me, and as such I am grateful.

Last night was the final meeting of my Dungeons and Dragons game until I get back from Clarion. I have to say it went very well. The party beat back the bad guy, accomplished their task, and all ended up in good hiatus spots. One player, Kyle, also went to great lengths to more or less rewrite my pantheon. He managed it much to my chagrin, but it took until one thirty int he morning. Needless to say John had left long before that and Brian retreated to bed around ten thirty. Still, it makes for an interesting place for me to pick up when I get back.

Then today I received an email letting me know I received some scholarship money for Clarion. It wasn't a huge amount, but I'm extremely grateful for whatever help I can get since it's less credit card debt I need to dig my way out of later.

The email said that contact info for the contributors would be made available. I need to pick up some stationary at that point so I can send proper thank you notes. Hey, I was the one who had the thank you cards for wedding gifts out the day after the wedding, so I doubt anyone's really surprised I'd be already planning thank yous for this. I wonder if I have any of the ferret cards left?

Anyway, that was really cool, and I'm all excited about it, not to mention the whole going to Clarion thing. It's really starting to set in that on Saturday I'll be on a plane to Michigan and leaving my life more or less behind for six weeks.

Oh, I should explain the revised Clarion journal plan. Thank Hilary Moon Murphy (http://www.sff.net/people/hmm/clarion.html -- an excellent Clarion site) for the suggestion.

The plan is this: instead of waiting until the end of Clarion to backdate all of the entries I'm going to keep in Word (since I don't want net access) I'm going to update weekly. There will still be an entry for each day (hopefully) but I'm going to go to the campus lab and post them once a week, still backdated. Therefore, each week five, six, seven, however many entries I write will be posted under the day they were written.

Does that make sense to anyone but me?

Okay, I still haven't finished THEM BONES, so I'm going to do some reading. Then tonight we have 1776. Busy, busy!

Bye, all!
