I got back from Plattsburgh on Tuesday. It was an okay visit. I'm not a big stock car racing fan, so that night was a little long, especially with the rain. But, I got to really talk to my mom and that was nice. My sister and I bonded over a decent, but not great Disney movie called FREAKY FRIDAY. All in all it was good.

The drive back with Mindy was nice too. We talked pretty much the whole way, and she only almost got us killed once!

Seriously, it was great to see my family and it's great having Min here. I know I can always call or email, but it's not the same as seeing people in person.

Plus, with Mindy here we get to play lots of Settlers of Catan. We've also got her hooked on THE WEST WING which she'd never seen before. I'm glad Bravo picked it up and is showing it in order from the beginning. Brian and I didn't start watching until mid second season.

In other news, haven't heard about the story out there, the jobs I aplied for, or my thesis paperwork, but I did discover another class I want to take that's being offered. The problem is it's being offered as a 700 level class in a different master's program so I can't take it. Since it's Issues in Genetic Engineering though I'm going to try anyway. I emailed the professor and everything. Hey, it's worth a shot, right?

I've been wondring recently if I should be putting manuscript arrived postcards in my submission envelopes so I know when one is lost in the mail and therefore don't waste three months waiting. However, I don't want to annoy editors and I'm not sure this is an acceptible practice.

Anyway, I'm going to go and revel some more in the fact that our power is on again. I was scared at first that it would be days and I don't own that many matches.
