Rodent Ramblings You Don't Want to Ask. Really. 53734 Curiosities served |
2003-08-24 11:18 AM Rejections MIA and Other Dilemma's Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Gloomy Read/Post Comments (0) Things have been going less than well on this front. Classes start Monday and all attempts at finding a thesis reader have been a complete failure. It looks like I'm just not going to be able to do it this semester. And, if that weren't bad enough there was a notification that Medieval British Literature will most likely not be offered next semester.
Now ordinarily one class not being offered wouldn't be a big deal, but a British liteature before 1800 course is required to finish the degree. I have not met this requirement. Medieval Brit lit is pretty much the only course ever offered that meets that requirement. Therefore, if I want to be finished in May I have to take it this semester. My schedule is no longer so convenient as it was, and since the teacher is new to the college I have no idea how he's going to react to me missing the second class (it's Tuesdays and Thursdays) for Worldcon. Sigh... I hate last minute complications. I also haven't heard from F and SF. Granted they say wait eight weeks, so I have some time left. I'm used to the quick responses that I and everyone I know have gotten. Apparently, they were on vacation or something or so a friend of mine was told, so it could be awhile. I've written pretty much nothing since being back from Clarion. I want to but I just can't seem to find anythign to say. I know I'm just going to have to push through it, write anything, but it's hard and I am probobly the most weak-willed person on the planet. Not an auspiscious combination. The search for a job has stalled, and given my class schedule in its new form it's just as well. There are no convenient times open to work. Although at least I only have two night classes now. That's something. Anyway, Mindy was here for about ten days. It was really great to see her and it seems she's thinking of moving to the area. Yay! I hope that everything works out for her. My mom also seems to be doing better. Things are finally moving forward with her court settlement and she likes the people she's working with at the new(ish) job. So that's cool. Well, that's all for now. Bye, all! Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
