See her online at http://www.journalscape.com/kentuckypine/. KentuckyPine inspires me to write. With no television in the house, my mornings are spent on the internet, clicking through my bookmarked news and weather sites. Every where I go, I see reference to television shows I've never heard of or seen. Then of course, there are the ones you can't help but hear about - even without having cable or satellite service. I have never seen American Idol. Never seen Desperate Housewives. No Sopranos, no Survivor, no real-life people-punishment shows. (I have seen The Apprentice, because that's one of Mother's favorites and we watch it when we are at her house.) Anyway - Even WITHOUT television, I could probably follow along with any show I wanted, over the internet. I was once invited to a women's brunch with our congresswoman in our home town. I spent the night before doing my homework, researching all the congresswoman's issues, stances, etc. I didn't want to look like a small town reporter, I wanted to know my stuff. The next day, fourteen women - all in leadership positions mind you - gathered around a conference table. The topic? Desperate Housewives. Now, why didn't I think to research that the night before?
