Our weekend was a whirlwind, much busier than our typical getaway. I haven't sorted it all out in my brain yet, so here are some simple highlights:

* We cleared and prepared campsite 16, doing some ground work and root removal where two trees and stumps had been taken out.

*We wrapped some trees with canvas to catch gypsy moths.

* We participated in the 42nd annual Show-Me Hike, covering almost three miles, and identifying literally dozens of wildflowers along the way. I saw six different species of violets alone.

* We saw Greenbrier State Forest, just before developers auction off all the surrounding forest to the highest bidders.

* We had campfire-grilled steak and onions, fried potatoes, baked beans. We had campfire eggs, with fried ham and Kripsy Kreme donuts. We had camp coffee, and black hotdogs with ketchup and mustard.

* We took three cameras, two digital and a 35 mm. We filled three rolls of film, and several floppies and a digital card.

*We found three geocaches, one travel bug, and one geocoin.

*We photographed historic Lewisburg in rosy evening shadows, and the view from Kate's Mountain at sunset.

* We made the whole weekend come in under $70 - gas, souveniers and donuts included.

So, there are all the highlights. I'll likely share some photos and details later. (Maybe I'll learn how to put photos in this html).
