Monday at 4 p.m. is the official deadline for the newspaper.

That means we have about 24 hours to process all that is turned in - and I have Monday and Tuesday to write, research, whatever on any last minute stories or glitches.

My Tuesdays are tight.

The problem is - the rest of the world has no clue.

If it's Tuesday, I'm in a hurry.

If it's Tuesday, and I don't write down what you tell me, I won't remember it.

If it's Tuesday, I'm not going to give any new topic not due by 4 p.m. the thought it deserves.

I can listen to you speak, and type something else at the same time - but neither the incoming in that situation, or the outgoing, will be up to par.

If you call, it is very likely I was halfway through typing a sentence, have someone sitting in my office, have at least three programs open on the desktop, and still have a long list of items yet to tackle.

I need to get my butt out of bed earlier, and get into the office before anyone else is circulating. That's the truth of the matter..

But even so, Tuesday's to do list is always, always full.

So, if it is Tuesday,

the answer is 'no' or 'not now.'
