Today was a family day.

We got up early this morning and set off to Mother's on a planned-at-the-last-minute day trip so Frank could begin repairing two cracks in her kitchen ceiling, and she and I could visit the courthouse for some paperwork.

When we got back home, I was flat dog-tired, and fell asleep on the couch - out from 6 - 9.

When I woke up, Dad Frank was downstairs, and he visited for over an hour. I enjoy his visits.

When the phone rang, we knew it was Christin, my niece in Virginia. She calls more often than anyone else, and normally during commutes to or from work.

It was "from work" time.

We spent two hours on the phone, chatting and theorizing about life and what-not.

All of it was good, however, Daisy Dewdrop did not fare as well today. She got car sick on the way to Mother's, and peed on Mother's carpet four times.

Bless her little heart, she slept all the way home, and following a short spell of romping, also was out cold, snoring.

But, what really is on my mind today is the @#%& weather.
(This blog is rated G for Mother and Aunt SYbil.)

I should be happy ~ we are not flooded.

I should count my blessings.

But eight days without any extended period of sunlight with a prediction of eleven such more days to come?

Just shoot me now and put me out of my misery.

We haven't even gotten a good thunderbooming night light show.

Just gray.
(Not grey with an "e" either, which I think is lighter than gray with an "a".
Um, Is that just me?)

GRAY.

With precipitation varying from none, to a sleety sprinkle, to a pounding pour.

The sun peeked out for a brief moment on Thursday morning, and I swear to you, people stopped on the street to acknowledge it ~

In less than five minutes, it was gone.

I love thunderstorms, and I can handle flooding, or rain, or mud.

Been there, done that.

But I can hardly stand this never-ending gray.

It's like weather Chinese water torture...

Drip.

Gray.

Rain.

Gray.

Pour.

Gray.

Rain.

Gray.
