stopping gluten

I just can't take it anymore.

We started gluten a week ago. Since Sunday, the poops have been foul-smelling goopy-liquid yellow-green glop and copious. We had four today alone. His poor tush is red. Of course, it could still be a new tooth (he was drooling today), or a cold (Rose and I both had upset tummies this week), but I don't care. I don't want to remove any more jammies covered in poop. I don't want to delay my trip to the store once again because he needs changing. And I really don't want my bunny to be uncomfortable if I can help it.

John and I had a very stressed out morning considering our options.

1. Procede with a celiac study that involves a blood test and a four hour fasting test. David eats every 1.5-2 hours. Plus, the tests had to be done today or Monday. The timing wasn't going to work. I feel guilty that we aren't adding to the body of knowledge on this issue.

2. Get David tested for the antibodies. We still may do this tomorrow. I can't get a straight answer whether 8 days of gluten is enough for the antibodies to show up. I certainly don't want to haul myself out to Children's Hospital and subject David to a blood test for inconclusive results.

3. Just stop giving him gluten. John pointed out that we could stop gluten, give him some recovery time, and then try again. If we get the same results, it still could be coincidental, but probably not.

Rose never had obvious symptoms, but it took over six weeks for her weight to increase after we took her off gluten. In other words, we may still be up to our elbows in poop for awhile.
