jet lag

I took the little homeopathy pills, my nice little placebo against jetlag. They didn’t work. Actually, who can tell if they worked? David woke at 1:30 a.m.; Rose at 2:00; and that was it for the morning. Sure, I’ve been exhausted all day, but it’s not that much different from my normal life.

But the kids, ooh baby, jetlag is hitting them hard. Rose had three meltdowns, one of them on the porch as the neighbors walked by. David, normally an ocean of calm, spent a lot of time screaming and clinging. Rose needed books. I personally read six, and I’m sure John, Dad, and Mom accounted for at least one each. David felt best outside where it was hot and the pollen made my eyes itch.

So, you’re all thinking, “Yeah coming home is a drag, but what about France?”

France was amazing, excruciatingly difficult, delicious, relaxing, intense, magical, and exhausting. I wrote absolutely nothing while there, but I’ve got a lot of entries planned. As soon as I don’t have to nap the instant the kids are down, you’ll be seeing them.
