Rose's birthday party

Rose is five today! Yeah Rose!

We managed to make it through a fun-packed sugar-filled day with minimal meltdowns.

She was just so happy when she woke up. She then proceeded to give gifts to the rest of the family, hobbit fashion. I got a chapter book that I might get to read to her.

It rained all morning, but that did not stop the outdoor pool party. I had a great time chasing David around the edge of the pool, especially as he threw the basketball in and demanded that Mommom throw it back to him. The kids loved being in the water. We gave everyone innertubes as the party favor and had bought a huge blow-up airplane. I can’t wait to get a chance on it.

Lunch was a sandwich bar with all the adults exclaiming with glee over the fluffernutter option. Rose and I ate Toby’s tofu spread with pickles, our favorite.

John made a fabulous chocolate cake with chocolate icing and rainbow sprinkles, gluten-free of course. Actually, various desserts were gluten-free, egg-free, and dairy-free. We aim to please.

Rose didn’t quite understand when people started to go home after 3 hours; she was ready to party all day long.
