Except for the hour where I was freaking out about the brother of one of Rose’s classmates being seriously ill, hungry, tired, hurting from pushing the tricycle up the hill while carrying my backpack and Rose’s backpack, and seriously done with children passing me their snotty tissues, it was a really great day.

David made no objections to car seats or the grocery cart at Fred Meyer. He grinned and giggled a lot.

David has been waiting for his new bike (aka tricycle) for months now. Nothing makes him prouder than strapping on his purple Dora balloon helmet and peddling on down the road. We have a handle on it because he doesn’t have steering or peddling down yet, but I can tell from the way he throws back his shoulders how great he feels.

Rose did not throw a fit as she left the house or glare when I picked her up. She skipped her rope all over the playground.

The sun came out.
