the case of the ripped off hinges

John was clearing out our storage room when he came charging upstairs. In their efforts to bring the equipment in, the flood mitigation people had ripped the door off its hinges. Not just broken hinges, they had ripped the wood off the door. I don’t usually see John this mad.

Do you understand the stress? I have to call someone and tell them they did a bad job. That could hurt their feelings. I have to possibly fight with them to get them to fix the situation. I have to get myself all worked up, so I don’t cave. (Some of you may be wondering, why did I have to call? Why not John? John does a ton for our household. In addition to taking out the garbage, one of my jobs is talking to strangers. Unfortunately, there have been a ton of them recently.)

Mr. Red Sox sent their top fix-it person. He was a dream. He was easy to talk to. He explained what he was doing and why. He fixed the hinges.
