the outfit that didn't work

I am infinitely grateful for the flow of clothing that keeps both my children outfitted. The basic movement is Miriam to Rose back to Ariana out to Nola back to David over to Benjamin back to Milo and on to whomever Michelle (Milo and Nola’s mom) chooses.

As the kids got older and the clothes more gendered, David’s supply started to dry up. Luckily, Nolan outgrew a box of sweat pants and track suits and now Lisa (Benjamin’s mom) offered a supply from Taka and Chikai.

We put on one of those new outfits today, and we’ll be passing it right along. First, the shirt says “Heartbreakers Club Boys Division.” I don’t get it. Does that mean David breaks boys' hearts or he is a boy breaking hearts? I find either age inappropriate. But worse, the missing apostrophes are driving me insane.

The pants are overalls that snap around the legs and crotch. First, even though they are the right size, I think that’s way too babyish for him. But worse, they are broken. Two of the snaps are missing and all of them keep coming undone. He looks like he’s wearing chaps. Chaps over a diaper. David and I were out gardening, of course. I was looking for the digging stick when he yelled, “Mommy! Diaper fall off!” Sure enough, without the pants to keep it in place that diaper full of poop was half-way to his knees.

We are definitely getting rid of this outfit.
