On Thursday I am leaving town for four solid days. It will be my first night away from David. It will be my longest time away from Rose. We thought about bringing the whole gang but between the horrible cost of air travel these days and managing two children when we'd rather be having long intimate conversations with our best friends, we decided to have John stay home with the kids.

We are not completely weaned. I don't think this will freak David out since we aren't dependant on nursing for sustenance or getting to sleep. I'm more worried that my body will go into hormonal freak out or stop producing and make it a frustrating cold turkey quit for both of us.

We have a lot of support. Rose will be in school or Sunday school 3 out of the 4 days. My mom is going to give John at least 2 afternoons off from David.

It's still a massive job for John. We do a lot of spelling each other. I walk in the door crazy exhausted and John immediately takes over. I do first shift in the morning; he does second. Sure, he usually makes dinner, but I usually make lunch and snacks. He'll have to do it all.

I'm planning to do some cell phone parenting and try hard not to worry. I'm also planning to glory in seeing my dear dear friends. I'm going to hug a lot, dance a lot, and play.
