As if my to-do list wasn't long enough already, everything got bumped down to deal with the rat. Last night a rat ran through Sally's apartment (our basement tenant), and we barricaded it in the storage area. Ooh ick!

I called three different pest removal services to see who could trap and remove the yucky icky that I just wasn't going to do myself. I've caught mice in Swarthmore, Vashon, and Minneapolis, but I'm not getting near a rat. National company #1 were total jerks, didn't listen to a word I said and tried to upsell me. Local company #2 gave me a high price but seemed decent. Local company #3 gave me a slightly lower price, and they are the ones who removed the rats in the attic. I have four more companies to call thanks to my network of family and friends making recommendations. But the earliest anything is going to happen is Tuesday. Poor Sally.
