*Sandy and Chama's radiant faces

*The ceremony.

Sandy and Chama did an amazing job making the wedding kid friendly—We all hung out at a camp for the week-end. They had swings, slides, dirt to dig, and an actual river to wade in. They hired two babysitters. Really, they tried, but David was not so into large groups of people and having to be quiet. David was into crumpling the leaves. He really liked crumpling them during the ceremony, and I am very grateful that Daddy watched over him while I got to bask in Sandy and Chama's radiant faces.

The ceremony did a really nice job of sharing who they are as individuals and as a couple. It was funny and moving. It did not shy away from the political and social justice ramifications of two women who want to marry and can't. It brought in ancient rituals. And, I could hear everything.

*Debating "So You Think You Can Dance" contestants with cousin Larry. Finally, someone who will discuss the relative merits of Will's pas de deux.

*Discussing poetry and career choices with cousin Steve. I wish we had had time for me to ask him insightful questions about his choices.

*Bashing Palin with my doppleganger.

*Hearing about Fred's upcoming 40th birthday party. They are all going to dress up as Poly Pocket dolls. Pictures, I want pictures!

*Finally learning how to pronounce Chama's name correctly—Ch as in ChaChaChaBoom!

*Did I mention Sandy and Chama's radiant faces?
