"keep your eye on the ball" and other things you never thought you'd hear coming out of my mouth

Hail and snow were still sticking to the grass, so, of course, David and I had to go outside and play ball. I'm not good at baseball. Throwing, hitting, or catching I tend to close my eyes and flinch. I could use a reality check because, in this case, we were using plastic balls and bats. Chance of getting hurt? Zero.

The t-ball stand was buried somewhere in the ice crystals, so, for the first time, we tried me pitching. If I were a good pitcher, he would get a hit every time. I did ok. He got twelve hits. I even coached him to stand sideways, and did, in fact, say things like "keep your eye on the ball." And I tried really hard to keep my eyes open. David swung and hit a moving ball. That's pretty cool.
