1. Exercise

I walked an hour and a half today up and down hills. Granted at a pretty mild pace, but I definitely warmed up.

2. Errands

On my walk, I picked up the papers from the doctor's office that proved my children really had been ill. Then I went to the post office and mailed the paper work to the travel insurance company, a batch of poems to my mentor, and a letter from Rose to her new penpal. All tasks that had been on my desk for weeks.

3. Poetry

While walking, I listened to poetry on my ipod. For the last several months, I've been ordering poetry on c.d. from the library, then copying it to my computer, and downloading it to the ipod because some day I was going to walk for exercise and listen to it. I actually did it. I found, however, that it took almost more concentration than I could muster while trying to cross streets and admire the flowering trees. Any stray thought and I lost the whole thread of the poem. It was very cool to hear Sexton and Yeats as well as a host of others.

So, I didn't get much cooking, cleaning, or writing done in my time off today, but I was productive.
