David rushes upstairs with the yellow and black backhoe loader wrapped in a bath towel. He looks like he's cradling a child. For the last week he's been moving dirt around the front garden with it. Now, he's calling it a monster truck and before he can play with it in the house, he knows he needs to wash it. I suggest the bathtub. He shucks his socks, pushes up his sweat pants and turns on the cold tap. Now he wants to use the good body wash for the dirt in the bucket. I offer the really cheap grape bubble bath. The bathtub fills with dirt and debris. It needed cleaning anyway. But when I come back he's using the last of my vanilla bubble bath. I was going to ask for more for the holidays anyway. So far there has been no whining on his part and no yelling on mine.
