David: I wanted to walk on the other side of the street.

Mommy (realizing she had promised this, but they were now in the middle of the block and cars were coming, tensely starts to cross)

David: Don't cross in the middle of the street. The cars don't expect you.

Mommy: I know. I made a bad choice.

David: You made a bad choice.




David: That car is parked in the red zone. Why are they doing that?

Mommy: Maybe they have an emergency. One time I had to do that.

David: What was your emergency?

Mommy: I had to pick everyone up from swimming, and there was no parking.

David: That's a problem not an emergency.
