poor sick Rose

Poor Rose. She's been sick since last Thursday. Right, the day before vacation. It started as aches and pains that I dismissed as the natural result of a vigorous gymnastics class. She had come out of class red and sweating. Then she got a bad cough that would wake her up all night. The cough was starting to fade, and yesterday she got a head-ache. I, the ever observant mother, said it was from all the noise at the Science Center. To be fair, the Science Center had given me a head-ache. But when she threw up the Tylenol, you'd think we'd get suspicious. Oh no, John said it was just the viscosity of the medicine. She was fine.

Rose was up all night throwing up and feeling miserable. We were up all night panicking about Rose and our trip for today. How sick could she be and still get on an airplane? The 103 degree fever this morning clinched the deal. That's too sick.

So, then we had a frantic half hour changing our plane tickets--it cost money, but the agent was there and very helpful. And then we had to break it to the grandparents and David that we weren't going today. The grandparents were very sympathetic; David burst into tears.

Luckily, Santa had realized what might happen and brought some of our presents here, so David is currently watching his new Clone Wars video with Daddy. Rose is listening to books on cd our friend Becky recorded for her. They are a huge help in our life. She's pretty miserable though, poor girl.

Cross your fingers we can all go to Ohio tomorrow.
