our trip to Ohio

Well, you know how it started--delayed a day with poor sick Rose. Rose slowly got better. I am now a complete convert to anti-nausea meds. They aren't dangerous, and they speeded her recovery by a day.

All our flights went well. Can you ever say that these days? No delays, no overly long lines, no screaming infant on my lap. Sorry, bad flashback. David and Rose watched dvd's most of the way.

It was John's parents 50th wedding anniversary, and they had a special mass and then a party. I had a lovely time. I've been part of the family long enough that I knew many of the invitees. It was very nice to wear my green velvet dress, hug everyone, and hear nice things about my in-laws.

The good news was there was lots of snow to play in. The bad news was it was kind of cold, 25, and the cold freaked David out. We had a lot of trouble dragging him out of the house to go play. And if we didn't, he overflowed with energy and careened off the walls, and I do mean literally. It warmed up a few degrees, and we did go sledding on their hill. I suspect it might be the only hill in Ohio, but that's just me craving Seattle's topography.

We played Uno, Twenty Questions, Ticket to Ride, and Waterworks. We did puzzles and tried out Uncle Michael's keyboard. We opened lots of presents and read lots of books. Nancy and Myron came to visit. We ate pizza and lots of chocolate cake. We had a really good time.
