the fairy hike

We went on a fairy hunt hike. Cecile had made a bunch of fairies with her girls Tia and Liana. She had this great idea to stash them along the hike from the top of Carkeek to the bottom and have us hunt for them.

Because of Rose being in camp, we couldn't actually get started until 5:00, so we turned it into a fairy hike, picnic, and fairy making adventure. It went great.

Hikers: Rose, Miriam, David, Ariana, Liana, Tia, Cecile, Debby, Julia, Ruth.
Ferriers of supplies: John and John

As I mentioned from our Carkeek hike last year, hike might be a bit of a misnomer. First, it's in-city, and my vision of a hike involves old growth forest. Also it's 1-2 miles down hill, and we got a ride back up. So, not much exercise either. On the other hand, it was green and with various back and forthing it actually took us an hour. Oh, and we got to find fairies.

We were going to the main part of Carkeek with the play equipment, but we hadn't realized the camp that met there was having an overnight, ergo hordes of children. Instead, we had a lovely peaceful picnic at Piper's Creek and then made fairies.

Cecile likes crafts even more than I do, so she worked her magic and pipe cleaners, plastic flowers and beads became fairies.
