David crawled in bed with us the other morning (as per usual), and asked me, "How many sentences in paragraph?"

So I started explaining to him exactly what I had explained my college students last night--a paragraph isn't a certain number of sentences; it is one developed thought. And then I shook myself awake and said, "You know what a paragraph is?"

Yes indeed he does. He also knows what a sentence is. It turns out one of his favorite works at school is making silly sentences where, I surmised, you pick one subject, one verb, and one object and come up with crazy stuff like "The giraffe drank the orange juice." I love crazy stuff like sentences.
