the tree decorating party

We had our annual tree decorating party and despite some regulars missing (like my mom and sister's family), a great time was had by all. David, in particular, had a wonderful time pulling the party together. He made his, now traditional, penguin marshmallows, and they were gobbled up. Rose dipped marshmallows in chocolate and helped John make three types of cookies: peppermint meringues, sugar cookie pinwheels, and gingerbread. They all came out fabulous, but the stress of getting them all done in one day was a bit much. We also had John's amazing hot chocolate and around 16 kids and 14 adults. They did a beautiful job decorating the tree, including two Jewish friends who wanted a chance to try it out. Our tree and house look very festive.
