David totally crashed before dinner tonight. I mean like three year old level of whining and nagging. Then I reviewed what he had eaten since breakfast: chocolate chip scones, booty, orange juice, potato chips, corn chips, cinnamon sugar nuts, sugared popcorn, and a cupcake. Oh, that explains things. We went into party mode and forgot to insist our children eat protein and fruit and limit the junk food and sugar.

Directly from Sunday school, we took the kids to a sukkot party at Joel and Rebecca's. It was fun to sit outside in the sukkah and admire all their baby friends. I so appreciate that Rebecca made g-f chocolate chip scones just for my kids.

Somehow managing to skip the Seahawk's traffic, we went straight to Lisa's house for a games party. All the food was gluten free partially because we brought half of it, and David discovered a new food: nuts, as long as they are coated in cinnamon and sugar. The grown-ups had gin and tonics, and we all played Boggle, Pictionary, Taboo, Stratego, and Munchkin Deluxe. Lisa has a great swing in the backyard, so David made periodic trips outside. Rose totally bonded with the grown-ups and played with us the whole time, doing extremely well.

Then, of course, everyone had homework to do when we got home, no one wanted to do it, and misery ensued. You know my answer to that.
